I've used them both for a while. Derivatives seems to have slightly better print quality for apparel in my experience, especially for more detailed designs. Printful is good too, but sometimes their colors come out a bit muted.

Honestly, it depends on what you're selling. For t-shirts, they're pretty comparable. I'd say SMD has better options for home decor stuff though, if you're into that. No inventory requirement on either really.

Can you actually return custom stuff if it's not what you expected? Like if the print isn't centered or something?

Yeah, they have a policy for quality issues. If it's a defect or wrong item, they'll usually sort it out. I had a misprint once and they replaced it, no problem. Just make sure to contact them quickly.

I think for true custom stuff, it's harder to return unless it's their fault. Like, if you just don't like the design you made, that's on you. But if the product itself is flawed, they're usually good about it.

I've never been able to combine codes on their site, afaik it's one code at checkout. It's usually either a platform-wide promo or a creator-specific one, not both.

From what I remember, standard shipping to the US West Coast was usually around 7-10 business days. It can vary a bit though, especially with custom stuff.

Mine came quicker, like a week. But definitely don't count on it being super fast. It's print-on-demand, so there's always a production time before it even ships. Keep that in mind if you have a deadline.
